Peterborough Cathedral

Replacing their educational displays and guided tours with touchscreen kiosks allows the Cathedral to increase the quantity and quality of information available to visitors.

Vertrix supplied both the touchscreens and the productions. Each kiosk is loaded with a selection of productions, replacing the old static information boards. Each production presents a section of historical interest relating to the Cathedral, such as the newly restored nave ceiling, the story of Catherine of Aragon (who was buried inside the cathedral) and explanations of the stained glass windows.

The versatility of the kiosks means that they can be updated from a single point when more data and productions become available. There are plans to have the productions on digicards for sale in the gift shop and attaching large format printers to the kiosks so that customers can print and purchase pictures and posters of any image and size they desire. This enables the cathedral to generate revenue from their kiosks.
