WHAT CAN YOU GET ON A 52MB DISK?

Most products and services are best showcased with a combination of sound, video, music, animation and still pictures. A typical production might include 60 seconds to 2 minutes of video, a series of still slides, a soundtrack, some animation and sometimes 3D graphics.

Searchable catalogues can be run off these small disks. Full details of 308 hotels, conference facilities, floor plans and some virtual tours with a search facility to locate venues fullfilling your requirements is one example.

Vertrix technical team have successfully converted 2GB of raw data to run, without loss of quality on a 52Mb Digicard.

Why Are Digicards The Best Media Option?

We have yet to find an industry where digicards fail to illustrate a product better than a printed brochure.

The first key reason is movement and sound bring life to your product in front of the customer.

The second is size. People keep digicards. You hand them out as business cards, and customers put them in their pocket. They are light, durable easy to use and distribute.

The third reason is cost. Digicards are remarkably cost effective. They are light enough to be stuck on a letter and posted with a first class stamp. The cost savings on postage alone over a brochure or video cassette can pay for an entire run of digicards.

The fourth reason is their benefit to the environment, as they can save paper. It is possible to get a small books worth of data onto a single Digicard.
Drive business to your website, as the digicards can be set to open up email and web browser windows that connect directly to relevant sections of your website.

So 52MB is the limit?
Not necessarily.
The 52MB limit means that our customers are forced to be selective when choosing what they put on the disks. How is this a good thing? Many people have the same computer they bought in 1990. They have slow processors and little RAM. The limitation on the amount of work the computer can be expected to do means that even the most basic of computers is able to access and play the content with no problem. in essence, it prevents our customers from trying to fit on too much.

If a customer wishes to have over 52MB of data, and they are confident that all the target machines will handle the data, then it is possible to have digicards up to 120MB. These are custom made, rather than made from existing CD stock, so take 3 weeks to print from the date of recipt of the final approved master.
